This morning, after breakfast, visit Alchi (3500 m / 11500 feet), a small village in the Indus Valley, 67 km west of Leh. Abandoned centuries ago the gompa or monastery is known as Chos-kor or religious enclave and comprises of five temples. En route see the majestic Sangam – Confluence (where two rivers meet each other). Zanskar is the river formed from the junction of two streams, Lungnak means “dark gorge” and Stod, which carries the melt water of the great Drang-drung glacier. See the marvelous Magnetic Hill, a gravity hill located near Leh. The hill is alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing

aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape magnetic interference. Later, visit Military Hall of Fame, a glorious museum constructed by Indian army. You can see biographies of eminent defense personalities, images and weapons used during Kargil war, Siachen and its heroes and their daily instruments and lifestyle of Ladakhi people. You will also visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a beautiful Gurudwara constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak, about 25 miles away from Leh and Spituk Monastery a famous for its wide and varied collections of ancient masks, icons, antique arms and numerous Thangkas.

This morning after breakfast, proceed to Pangong Tso, a lake which is 134 km long and extends from India to Tibet. 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. During winter, the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water. En route visit Shey Palace, the 15th century summer palace and monastery of Leh’s Royal family; the 800 year old gompa at Thiksey built on a hilltop and modeled on the famous Potala Palace in Lhasa. Before reaching Pangong Lake, you will pass through the Changla, a high mountain pass and the world’s 3rd highest motorable road. It is on the route to Pangong Lake from Leh. The name literally means “Pass towards the South” or “Pass in the South” (Chang = south, La = Pass).

Golconda Fort – is a majestic monument, which lies on the western outskirts of Hyderabad city. Built by Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah in 1525, it is the epitome of Nawabi culture and grandeur. The construction of Golconda fort is believed to have started in 1143 as a mud fort during the rule of the Kakatiya Dynasty. A new attraction at the Fort is the sound and light show that brings the legend of Golconda to life. It is an experience worth watching. The show is presented in English, Hindi and Telugu language.

Charminar – which is an amazing blend of Indo-Islamic architecture. Built

in 1591 CE, the Charminar is a monument and mosque which is a global icon of Hyderabad. It is coined from two words Char and Minar, which translate as Four Towers. It is said that the Charminar was built at the centre of the city to commemorate the eradication of plague.

Mecca Masjid – is one of the oldest mosques in Hyderabad and one of the largest Mosques in India. The aura and sanctity that emanates from the sanctum of Mecca Masjid is said to be simply divine. Founded by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, the fifth ruler of Qutub Shahi dynasty, it is said that he himself laid the foundation stone and the bricks used to construct the central arch of the mosque have been made from soil sourced from Mecca.

Salar Jung Museum – of Hyderabad is the world’s largest one-man collection

– a repository of the artistic achievements of diverse European, Asian and Far Eastern countries of the world and houses over 43,000 paintings, 9,000 holographs and 47,000 printed books. The major portion of the collection at Salar Jung Museum was acquired by Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan popularly known as Salar Jung III, a world renowned art connoisseur. One of the most ancient heritage buildings of Hyderabad,

Chowmahalla Palace– is a piece of art. Chahar or chow means four, and mahal means palace; hence the name stands for four palaces. Once regarded as the centre of Hyderabad, the magnificent Chowmahalla Palace was where the Nizams entertained their official guests and royal visitors. Built over 200 years ago, Chowmahalla is renowned for its unique style and elegance.

Day 1 : Arrive Port Blair

All tour guests will arrive at Port Blair Airport as per scheduled Flight. Upon
arrival you will meet Raj Holidays Tour Manager at the Airport and transfer to
the Hotel. In the evening we will visit Cellular Jail; a pride of place in India’s
freedom struggle. Declared a national memorial, this three storey prison
constructed by Britishers in 1906, is a pilgrimage destination for freedom fighters. Cellular Jail followed by Light and Sound Show; The historic Cellular Jail which gives you a vivid experience of its strong association with the freedom fighters and their struggle for independence. After early breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) by Makruzz / Nautika Cruise / Govt. ferry. Early in the morning drive to Baratang. Today we will enjoy an excursion
to Baratang Island (Subject to operation), the island which has dense mangrove forests and rich diversified fauna. We will visit Mud Volcano – India’s only active Mud Volcano. It is formed by gases and liquids excreted by the earth’s interior. There’s no lava spewed out, but mud in a semi-solid state comes out of the volcano. Later we enjoy a boat ride through the Mangrove Reserves to the wonderful Limestone caves, to explore stalagmite and stalactite formations which were formed millions of years ago due to the slow deposition of lime on the earth’s surface. In the evening back to Portblair for Overnight stay at Port Blair.
